IDRC's new telecentre.org initiative jumped out of the box at the World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis. We ran participatory workshops, launched our program and unveiled the beta version of our web site. We set up this web site as a place for online collaboration and storytelling by telecentre people attending WSIS.

The consequences of the TLF and its tappering into the hatching of tc.org has started to bear impact. A cooperation between UgaBYTES-Uganda and Sarvodaya-Sri Lanka was reached late night. Sarvodaya will provide community integration model guides and manuals to UgaBYTES to support the East African Network's strategy of increasing grassroots impact. Arrangements have been completed for the UgaBYTES team to visit Sarvodaya in the first quarter of 2006 to further the understanding of the grassroots programs. Within the comparation UgaBYTES, will support the online strategy of Sarvodaya.

So after the years of campaigns, awards, projects and endless policy lobbying, this crazy Summit is coming to a close.  Strange feeling as to what will happen to the Youth Caucus next week, month, year, but having spent 6 months in Geneva at the heart of the beast, it's both a relief and sad moment to see it all end.  Some of my best friends and colleagues have all come about through WSIS and TIG (cue the cheezy music).  But anyways, half-way thru, here's some thoughts on the WSIS thus far...

Speed Geek, it made me occupied couple of hours yesterday talking to people continuously about our programmes in the telecentre.org workshop. Though it had given me a hard time in continuous talking, on the other hand it gave me plenty of opportunity to interact with many people across the world sharing experiences and answering to questions etc.
